Stream Transcoder

Our Stream Transcoder service allows us to take any existing audio or video stream and transcode it into another format and onto another streaming server of your choice.

This is ideal if you want to convert your stream into various other bitrates, for example, take an existing 128kbps or 320kbps (MP3) stream and transcode it down into a 48kbps or 64kbps (AAC) stream for mobile devices.

We can take pretty much any live audio stream as an input (From Icecast, Shoutcast, Live365, etc… and in any format, such as MP3 or AAC, AAC+ ) and pass it through our Stream Transcoder service.

We can then transcode into all major formats such as MP3, AAC, OGG, FLAC, Opus or Vorbis with sample rates up to 192,000KHz and bitrates up to 320kbps and stream onwards to your Icecast, Shoutcast v1 or Shoutcast v2 streaming server.

All this is done via our platform and no additional software or hardware is required on your side, just let us have your current audio stream URL and where you’d like it sending and we’ll transcode your audio stream into any format you require within seconds.

Our Stream Transcoder also works if you want to take a live video stream and send the audio-only element onwards to an Icecast/Shoutcast streaming server.

Metadata? No problem, we’ll send this on too so your transcoder also has the same metadata as the original stream.

How does it work?
