HLS Audio Streaming

HLS Audio Streaming allows you to not only broadcast in high quality audio, it allows you to simultaneously broadcast in multiple bitrates (audio quality) to ensure that your listener always gets a great listening experience by choosing the best bitrate based on their network conditions (or Internet connectivity).

Our HLS streaming platform allows you to encode from your existing encoder/playout to avoid making costly changes to start using this relatively new audio streaming technology. You can encode directly from all main software/hardware encoders (using the Icecast protocol) and we'll then produce the relevant HLS audio streams in multiple bitrates (from 320kbps AAC all the way down to 16kbps) and make that available to your listeners. If you prefer, we can also take a feed directly from your existing audio stream and create the HLS Audio Stream from that and distribute it for you.

No more buffering for your listeners and no more deciding which bitrate to use! Simply use our HLS Adaptive Audio Streaming to serve them all and the listening device will pick the best one and automatically adapt based on their network capabilities and Internet speed. From 320kbps HD broadcasts all the way down to 16kbps (which still sounds decent thanks to the use of HE-AAC codecs) you'll never lose a listener again!

We'll handle the HLS distribution via our solid, reliable network and you can manage it all via our platform. We've created a configurable HLS player for you to embed directly onto your website and we offer full statistics via our custom dashboard.

How does it work?

You can either stream from your existing encoder or automation playout to our platform OR we can pull from your existing audio stream. We'll then create an adaptive HLS audio stream and stream it to your listeners. You'll be set up in minutes! Then you can embed our customisable web player or simply use the provided .m3u8 stream generated and you're good to go.

Then you can track your listeners via our advanced statistics panel and see your current live listeners, location, most/least played songs/artists, most/least popular times and much more.

How does it work?

We use HLS Adaptive Streaming to determine your listeners network conditions and bandwidth and we serve them with the best relaible bitrate based on their netwok conditions. If these conditions improve, we'll serve a higher bitrate. If their network conditions get worse, we'll drop down to the next best bitrate to ensure seamless broadcasting.
